Success in the cloud isn’t just about adoption, it’s about orchestration with the right partners
I recently read an article by an international colleague, Steve Doust, group sales director of Business Solutions at Kyocera Document Solutions UK, and was struck by his words: “cloud can become a security minefield.” He offered practical advice on cloud configuration that’s well worth highlighting, especially as more of our customers embrace hybrid cloud tools.
He raises a critical fact: misconfiguration and weak identity management in the cloud are becoming major cyber risks. Every new cloud app adds complexity, and even simple missteps can lead to significant breaches.
We’ve seen the same in our market and agree wholeheartedly and believe our role as partners is to help our clients navigate this complexity with care, clarity and secure-by-design thinking.
Here’s what strong configuration and identity management looks like in practice:
- Tightly controlled user access: enforcing policies like least privilege, multi-factor authentication, and Azure AD or Entra ID based access.
- Consistent hygiene: ensuring only approved users access specific apps, systems, or data—reducing blast radius in case of compromise.
- Secure device and print integration: ensuring cloud endpoints, print workflows, and hybrid setups adhere to security protocols—Kyocera embeds access control, encryption, and firmware validation directly into document infrastructure.
By pairing cloud identity best practices with our secure document workflows, like secure print release, encrypted storage, and role‑based print access, KDZA brings credibility and continuity to every deployment.
As Steve says, success in the cloud isn’t just about adoption, it’s about orchestration. The right identity strategy turns complexity into competitive advantage.
Kyocera’s cloud ecosystem – comprising Kyocera Cloud Capture, Kyocera Cloud Information manager and Kyocera Cloud Print and Scan - empowers our partners and customers to go beyond printing, enabling the creation of smarter, more efficient, and highly secure hybrid work environments.
Kyocera’s vision extends beyond simply deploying cloud solutions, its about driving trusted digital transformation. Consulting partners and managed service providers play a critical role in navigating the complexities of cloud configuration and security. By bridging gaps in internal IT resources and cloud expertise, we deliver practical, hands-on support where it’s needed most – ensuring businesses can confidently embrace the cloud with Kyocera.
I believe that when businesses are willing to look outward, as well as inward in their pursuit of secure and sustainable cloud adoption, they give themselves the best possible chance of success.
