Windows 10 update and print problems - RESOLVED

Windows 10 crashed when printing due to Microsoft March updates. New updates released.

The Windows 10 KB5000802 or KB5000808 cumulative updates released recently are causing an APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error with a blue screen when attempting to print to certain printers in some apps. This issue affects a subset of Type 3 printer drivers and does not affect printer drivers that are Type 4.

Should you experience Windows problems when printing from a Kyocera device after a recent Windows 10 update, please make sure to install as per below:

  • For Windows 10 version 1909 install update KB5001566.
  • For Windows 10 version 20H2 install update KB5001567.
