Two more awards for Kyocera

Besides being named a “Major Player” in the “IDC MarketScape Worldwide Sustainability Programs and Services Hardcopy 2023 Vendor Assessment in January, February brings two new awards to Kyocera’s door. We secured the prestigious 2024 WorldStar Award for our ground-breaking advancements in packaging for our colour A4 printer devices. Awarded by the World Packaging Organization, the accolade is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence in every aspect of our operations. This dedication has also earned us recognition from CDP as an "A List 2023" company for environmental transparency and our efforts in combating climate change.

We have diligently worked towards minimising waste and maximising the lifespan of our products, all while reducing our carbon footprint for decades.

Our packaging innovation, which replaces plastic foam cushioning materials with paper alternatives, showcases our unwavering commitment to sustainability. By utilising a support shape in our pulp mould and corrugated cushioning material to prevent collapse and breakage, we have significantly reduced damage upon impact by up to 61%. This not only underscores our dedication to environmental stewardship, but also enhances the customer experience by ensuring products arrive safely and intact.

As we celebrate these achievements, it's important to acknowledge that innovation and sustainability are inseparable. By prioritising environmental responsibility, Kyocera not only contributes to a healthier planet, but also drives positive business outcomes. It’s part of our ethos, our identity as a company and it makes me proud to be a part of it.

Looking ahead, our commitment to combating climate change remains steadfast. We are striving towards aligning ourselves with the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) guidelines and are actively pursuing initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality by fiscal year 2051. This includes implementing renewable energy solutions across our locations, adopting energy-saving measures, and exploring new greenhouse gas reduction methods.

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "The future depends on what we do in the present." It is an honour to feel united in our drive towards a sustainable, low-carbon society. Together, we can and are making a meaningful impact on our planet.
