Technical excellence with a human heart: Introducing Shawn Heyns

One of the most rewarding parts of building the Kyocera team is when we welcome someone whose values, work ethic, and spirit align so naturally with ours. This week, I’m proud to announce that Shawn Heyns has joined Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa as our new Product Support Engineer.

With more than 20 years in the industry, Shawn brings deep technical insight and an incredible ability to solve complex problems. But what stood out most during his appointment process wasn’t just his technical know-how—it was his unwavering respect for people and his commitment to learning and service.

His journey has not been built on titles or degrees, but on grit, growth, and humility. From starting as a temp to becoming a National Product Manager, Shawn’s story reflects a mindset we deeply admire at Kyocera: that we can achieve anything we commit to, when guided by integrity and service.

This is the embodiment of our founding philosophy—“Respect the Divine and Love People.” It reminds us that beyond our roles and responsibilities, our greatest success lies in treating people with dignity, honouring our commitments, and striving to improve ourselves and the communities around us.

In Shawn’s own words, “You’re never too old to learn, and you can become anything you apply your mind, skills, and dedication to.” That’s exactly the energy we need as we strengthen our production print offerings and deepen our customer-centric technical support. With Shawn on board, I’m confident we’re heading into a new chapter of growth and collaboration.

Please join me in welcoming Shawn to the Kyocera family. Let’s continue working together to build not only a smarter business—but a more respectful, honourable, and human one.
