After a challenging 2020, which saw the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on global economies, the printing and document management solutions sector has bounced back with the overall market increasing by 23,15% (7,375 units) from H1 CY20 and ending with a total of 39,228 units.
This is according to results from market data specialist InfoSource’s annual research, which again saw Kyocera emerge as the leading supplier of in the Copier/MFP segment. Kyocera’s market units increased by 1,546 units, ending with 6,525 units, resulting in 1st position at a 16,63% market share.
Kyocera also continued to fare well in the overall A4 MFP segment where our units increased from H1 CY20 3,708 A4 units to end in 1st position with 4,382 A4 units or 21,42% of market share for CY21. We also retained first place in the A4 mono and colour segments, but lost some units in the colour A4 segment. The growth by Triumph Adler of 109% in this segment, however, is evidence that there is still potential for growth – and our continued focus on innovation in security features and software integration bodes well for increased market share in the near future.
It’s exciting to note that market share of our A3 MFPs increased by 68.6%, which was more than the overall increase of 22.47%. As a result, we moved up to 3rd position in the market. The performance of the A3 range highlights the quality, functionality improvements and overall value for money of the new generation of Kyocera A3 devices.
For Kyocera, colour A3 showed the biggest increase with 79.26%, which was more than the overall market increase of 19.29%. This marks an enormous opportunity for further growth as we only hold 9.59% of the market. With the newly released TASKalfa 2554ci/3554ci range, which sets a new standard in A3 MFPs, we are confident that we will see an increase market share in this segment.
The TASKalfa range is specifically designed to enable digital workplaces, and customers who are working towards digital transformation should be made aware of the essential role that intelligent multifunctional devices can play in this environment. As we enter the final months of 2021, our push should be to position the A3 range as intelligent MFPs that can help companies to achieve faster digital transformation.
A big thank you for the hard work and effort of our staff and partners. Our market position is due to your continuous contributions. We’re feeling upbeat about our position and what the future holds and we look forward to working together to achieve another year of growth, which will once again position us as a leading supplier in the Copier/MFP segment.
