Kyocera US Awarded Great Place to Work Certification

Did you see the announcement that Kyocera in the United States were awarded with a Great Place to Work certification? The certification involves a confidential survey among staff, as well as a questionnaire to measure employee experience. Overall 73% of our American colleagues say that Kyocera is a great place to work, with the majority (82%) consistently saying they feel they make a difference in the workspace and a sense of pride in what the company achieves.

While we are cognisant that the past few years have challenged KDZA as a company, as well as our country and economy, what’s significant about this survey to me is that Kyocera’s US employees cited “people” and “philosophy” as major reasons for enjoying their work experience. Other reasons orbited around concepts such as “team”, “family”, “authenticity” and “opportunity”, all of which are sentiments we as KDZA wholeheartedly subscribe to.

On the local front, The KDZA Employee Experience Survey, conducted in mid-2021, highlighted where we are doing well as a company, as well as the areas in which we need to improve. While we take the latter seriously, it’s gratifying to uncover that the organisation is still very much driven by our longstanding Kyocera philosophy. By adhering to this philosophy and constantly asking ourselves “What is the right thing to do as a human being?”, we have translated this question into our behaviour as a business. It guides our ethics, moral values and social norms and aims not only for what is just and fair, but also for growth and development.

We believe that with teamwork, and this philosophy as our shared foundation, we will continue to evolve and prosper as a company. It is interesting to know that Kazuo Inamori, founder and chairman emeritus of Kyocera, developed the philosophy as a guiding principle for work when he was struggling to overcome various difficulties. We at KDZA find it so useful, that we want to share the power of the philosophy with our partners. We are “convinced that a bright future overflowing with hopes and dreams will surely open up for everyone who share this philosophy.”

We believe it is the reason why out of 28 Kyocera Document Solutions subsidiaries around the world, KDZA emerged as a top performer at the end of 2021. It’s this philosophy that carries KDZA through good times and bad, and will continue to be our rudder no matter what storms may come.
