Despite the significant challenges of 2020 as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa has managed to retain our status as the market leader for Copier/MFP segment.
While this year’s results from market data specialist InfoSource’s annual research, show an overall downturn in the market, Kyocera SA has fared relatively well given the tough economic environment. We once again attained the top position as market leader in the office automation industry for Copier/MFPs in Southern Africa – placing first overall among leading brands for CY2020 and ending with a market share of 14.5%.
We also achieved first place for the overall mono Copier/MFP market with 15.4% market share; second place in the overall colour Copier/MFP market with 12.9% market share; first place in the overall A4 with 19.8% of the market share, and fifth place in the overall A3 category with 8.4% of the market share.
While we rightfully celebrate yet another well-won achievement, the overall market downturn indicates that this is no time to rest on our laurels. Although the A3 market has been in decline for some time now, there are still opportunities particularly in the colour A3 sector as we see more people returning to their offices, where we hope to offer our business solutions to gain more market share.
What’s more, our A4 devices continue to be an excellent value proposition and we expect to retain our position as a leader in this segment, by positioning our MFPs as intelligent devices that can be linked to business processes.
We’ve noted the global acceleration of many companies’ digital journeys, which indicates that now is the right time to add additional service offerings that position our intelligent MFPs at the forefront of our customers’ digital transformation.
On behalf of Kyocera SA, I’d like to express an enormous thank you to our partners for your contribution during CY2020.
Let’s continue the great work and look forward to even more successes in 2021.
