Message of the week 19 - 23 August 2019
Week 34 | 2019

Kyocera 2019 Dealer Conference
Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa’s (KDZA) partners recently attended the Kyocera Dealer Conference 2019 held at the Misty Hills Country Hotel Conference Centre in Muldersdrift.
With the theme of the conference rooted in Kyocera’s Philosophy of “do the right thing as a human being”, as well as our future in the Digital Transformation arena, the day kicked off with a motivational talk by author, adventurer and inspirational speaker, Joey Evans. This was followed by presentations by the KDZA team, which covered topics like KDZA’s current market position and achievements; the 4th Industrial Revolution; Digital Transformation; Service & Support; Kyocera’s new branding and marketing tools; and the new rebate system.
Joey Evans inspired attendees with his story, which is covered in his book “From para to Dakar: Overcoming Paralysis and Conquering the Dakar Rally”. He shared his experience of how he qualified to race the 9 000km Dakar Rally ten years after breaking his neck and crushing his spinal cord, leaving him completely paralysed from just below the chest. His message of determination in the face of insurmountable odds and his life struggle of chasing a dream left attendees determined to never give up and to embrace challenges and change.
It’s been about 4 years since our last conference and there have been many changes within KDZA during that time. It was the perfect opportunity to impart information about these changes and information around our own digital transformation journey and how we will be moving forward in terms of business focus. One of the main aims was to inspire and reinvigorate the Kyocera partners and align our vectors, so that as a business, we would be moving in the same direction
.The awards evening opened with Nick Mallet’s talk, which reinforced the message of teamwork, determination and continuing through adversity. As the coach for the South African Springbok rugby team, as well as the head coach of Italy's rugby union team, Nic shared many rugby anecdotes and stories that lead to the same conclusion that Joey Evans shared earlier in the day, which is never give up.
The conference was concluded with business awards and the announcement of the FY19/FY20 sales incentive winners who will soon be on an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan for the 2019 rugby World Cup.
