14th Kyocera Service Awards: And the finalists are …
Kyocera Document Solutions SA is pleased to announce the national finalists for its 2021 Service Awards, an exciting annual event which recognises the company’s best service engineers across the globe.
Many international service engineers qualify for entry each year and this year saw 121 entries from SA-based engineers, who completed the online exam portion of the competition.

The finalists will go on to compete in the 2021 Service Awards national finals, which includes practical and theoretical components, and stand to win R55 000 in cash prizes, gift bags and certificates.
The finals will be held at KDZA’s head office in Johannesburg from 7 to 9 September 2021. Because safety is of utmost importance to us and we adhere to all COVID-19 health and safety protocols, the KDZA team will only test five finalists a day and unfortunately prize giving will not form part of the finals this year.
Instead, winners will be invited to attend a small event hosted by KDZA to celebrate their achievements and the winner will go on to compete in the European Finals to find the Best Engineer in the Region.
Usually the winner of the national awards travels overseas to compete against other EMEA regional KYOCERA winners and the prize for the top achievers of the regional finals usually win an all-expenses paid trip to Japan, however, due to COVID-19 this may not be an option. The format of the finals is being discussed and will be announced in due course.
As KDZA’s local Service Awards 2020 finals were not held last year due to safety concerns for the delegates, the Top 5 for 2020 automatically qualify into this year’s finals and they are:

These awards are important, as they not only reward the efforts of our technicians, but they give us a chance to prove how rigorously-trained our technicians are, which is a competitive advantage for us. It is an important differentiator that our technicians can service and repair machinery that provides many years of satisfactory use for a business, and we are exceptionally proud of both participants and finalists.
