Based on the KM-C3232 A3 colour multifunctional product (MFP), the FS-C8100DN is one of the fastest colour printers in the office environment. Using single-pass technology, which prints all colours (CMYK) onto the page at the same time, the colour print speed (32 ppm A4/16 ppm A3) of the new device matches the monochrome print speed (32 ppm A4/16 ppm A3), making it as productive to print in colour as in black-and-white.

The Private Print function allows users to assign a 4-digit security code to a document, which has to be entered before the document is allowed to be printed. This ensures that confidential documents remain confidential. In addition, the Security Watermark feature allows users to apply an invisible watermark to sensitive documents, which is automatically embedded on a document when it is printed. However, if the document is then copied, the watermark becomes visible, making it possible to tell the difference between the original and an illegal copy. An optional Data Security Kit also ensures complete security of documents printed or copied on the FS-C8100DN by automatically encrypting data stored on the hard disk.

For those wanting to track the cost of office printing and colour output, the FS-C8100DN Departmental Code function, installed as standard, enables limits to be set for how much individuals or departments are allowed to print, allowing output to be controlled. Additional options for cost management include KMnet Admin, a web-based software solution that tracks expenditure across the network, and KYOcontrol Business Edition, an out-of-the-box solution offering cost management and secure printing.
